In June of 2011 my wife and I decided to relocate to Fountain ,Colorado. Upon having our proposed home inspected, it was determined to have a radon gas level averaging 6.2 pCi/L. The EPA recommends that any structure with a radon Level higher than 4.0 pCi/L consider a radon mitigation system. This is due to the increased risk caused by radon gas, such as lung cancer. After learning of this I contacted Aspen Environmental Services and spoke to Dennis Elkins who insured me that their Radon Mitigation System would bring the radon levels in our proposed home well below the EPA guideline. Therefore, we purchased the home and had Dennis install the system which took only a matter of hours. The installation was professional and everything he said it would be.
Within four days after the system had a chance to do its job I posted a radon detector. With the system operating, our house tested at <0.3 pCi/L. Essentially this system had taken an unsafe level of radon within our home and reduced it well below the EPA's guideline of 4.0 pCi/L.
I would recommend radon mitigation by Aspen Environmental Services to anyone with radon gas in their home.
