Finding a good radon mitigation company is a difficult proposition. I interviewed several as each company uses similar techniques. What set Aspen apart was their willingness to come to the home to bid the job. I had the opportunity to discuss potential challenges involved in this particular home installation. I felt confident that the materials used in my install are the best available. Many other contractors I spoke to use inexpensive plastic membrane that is just inferior to the membrane that Aspen uses. The quality of craftsmanship performed by Aspen is what I would expect if I did it myself. This is huge since I have spent many years working in the construction industry.

When testing showed that my house had elevated levels of radon, I began researching mitigation companies and interviewing owners. A local environmental advocate who had become an expert on radon recommended Dennis Elkins and Aspen Environmental Services; that recommendation confirmed the results of my research.
It turned out that my husband and I made the right choice for several reasons. For one, our house, constructed on the side of a hill, presented an extra challenge. There is a ground-level sub-basement under the basement. Aspen Environmental was up to the challenge, as post-mitigation tests proved.
We were also pleased with Dennis's dependability and honesty, as well as his cordial, low-key approach.
It feels good to breathe easier!

I would like to thank Aspen Environmental Services for all of their help and advice during the installation of my radon mitigation system.
After talking to Aspen Environmental Services and a couple of other radon mitigation companies in the area, Aspen Environmental Services was chosen because of their knowledge and professionalism in helping me understand the equipment and the installation approach. During the installation, they worked quickly but were very thorough. They left no messes and explained the process and answered any questions that I had.
Finally, I found Dennis Elkins to be a refreshingly honest businessman. When it was possible for him to up-sell the equipment and install more than what was needed to accomplish the test results than needed, he recommended that we be conservative and go one step at a time. This resulted in only having to do a partial mitigation in the lower level which lowered the radon levels to <0.3 pCi/L, which is lower than the outdoor average. His recommendation saved me money without sacrificing safety.
Later, when I thought I had a post-installation problem, he came back and checked the equipment, which was working fine, for no charge.
I thank Aspen Environmental Services and I wish them many years of success.
